Soil Biology Identification with Jo Tobias
Workshop
Nelson, February 17
Jo Tobias is a regenerative soils consultant, permaculture practitioner, educator, and owner of RootShoot Soils. She has been training under Dr. Elaine Ingham of Soil Food Web for five years while working directly with farmers to regenerate the life in their soil. Participants brought soil and compost samples to look at under the microscope in this hands-on, intensive workshop to identify soil organisms on farms. The instructor’s microscope was projected to a screen, and many participants brought their own ‘scopes. Jo also covered the basics of growing great compost and brewing compost teas and extracts, with a demonstration of farm-scale equipment. Resources
