BC Forage Council Grazing Field Days
August 27 – 29, 2024: Radium Hot Springs, Fort Steele and Creston
This August BC Forage Council and KBFA invited experts Greg Tegart and Mike Malmberg to come out and answer these questions in a 3-day tour through Edgewater, Fort Steele, and Creston. Much thanks to our farm hosts: Rick Tegart, Dorothy Lescanec, and Jessica Birdsall! Participants heard about funding opportunities for grazing management plans, fencing, and mentors, dug into the roots of why forage species behave as they do, and discussed the pros and cons of DIYing portable fencing equipment. Rick’s herd was even kind enough to demo how much they like their new off-stream solar water trough!
