Field Day: Pasture Rejuvenation and Weed Control
Hosted by the Kootenay & Boundary Farm Advisors (KBFA). Date: October 6, 2026, Salmo
This interactive field day included a pasture walk at a local farm of hay and grazing fields at varying levels of productivity. Participants observed and discussed limitations to pasture productivity and potential options for rejuvenation. This field day intended to start the conversation, identify key questions and build a peer support network. It will be followed by two online discussions this winter and a spring field day with a pasture expert.
Facilitated by Jeff Nimmo, Regional Agrologist with Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Lindsay Benbow, Forage Specialist and Rachael Roussin, Farm Advisor with Kootenay and Boundary Farm Advisors
